We are currently recruiting for a specialist Alternative Provision school in the Thorne area of Doncaster that supports pupils with social, emotional and mental health needs (SEMH), many of whom have complex and challenging life experiences.This is a fantastic opportunity to join a dedicated and supportive team working with pupils aged 5-16 who require a nurturing, trauma-informed approach to education. The setting focuses on emotional regulation, therapeutic support, and creating a safe environment where pupils can re-engage with learning at their own pace.What the role involves:

  • Supporting pupils on a 1:1 and small group basis with a focus on emotional wellbeing and behavioural support
  • Helping students develop social skills, resilience and self-regulation strategies
  • Working closely with teaching staff, pastoral leads, and external professionals to deliver consistent support
  • Promoting positive relationships, trust, and routine
  • Encouraging engagement in learning through creative and adaptive methods

What we’re looking for:

  • Experience supporting children or young people with SEMH or trauma backgrounds (essential)
