The role
As Warehouse Inbound Team Leader, you will own the inbound flow from pre-alert through receipt and putaway. Your focus is simple and critical: make inbound accurate, fast, and consistent every day. Maintain inbound lag below four hours, spotting constraints early and escalating bottlenecks immediately.
Ensure receipts are completed with precision and aligned to booking expectations.
Accuracy and issue resolution
Track inbound booking accuracy and lead daily root cause reviews to prevent repeat errors.
Own the disposition process for damaged, missing, or mis labelled goods, ensuring clear actions and fast resolution.
Work closely with stock control and operations to protect inventory integrity.
Putaway efficiency
Allocate putaway tasks to maximise labour use and reduce travel time by up to 20%.
Ensure stock is placed into correct allocated slots with no short cuts.
Monitor putaway lag and reassign resources when required to maintain service levels.
SOP enforcement and training
Run weekly SOP refresher sessions focused on inbound standards.
Certify team members through quarterly inbound best practice refreshers.
Coach in the moment to build consistent habits and safe working methods.
Team coordination and culture
Lead daily stand ups, set clear shift priorities, and provide feedback tied to performance and behaviours.
Recognise inbound wins, celebrate progress, and help create a fun, high trust working environment.
Encourage full participation in inbound improvement forums so ideas come from the floor as well as the office.
What success looks like
Booking accuracy above 99%.
Putaway lag consistently below four hours.
ASN compliance at or above 98%.
Full team engagement in continuous improvement, with regular ideas turned into action.
