Dunbar Education is currently recruiting on behalf of a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Dudley, seeking a dedicated and passionate SEND Teaching Assistant to join their supportive team.

About the Role:

This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a nurturing school environment where every child is valued and supported. As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you will:

  • Provide 1:1 or small group support to pupils with Special Educational Needs, including autism, ADHD, speech and language difficulties, and behavioural needs.
  • Assist the class teacher in delivering tailored learning strategies and inclusive classroom activities.
  • Support pupils with their emotional, social, and sensory needs throughout the school day.
  • Work closely with SENCOs, teachers, and families to ensure individual needs are met and progress is made.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • Previous experience working with children with SEND in a school or educational setting.
  • A calm, patient, and adaptable approach to supporting children with additional needs.
  • Knowledge of EHCPs, PECS, Makaton, or sensory-based interventions (desirable but not essential).
  • An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.
  • A relevant Level 2 or 3 qualification in Teaching Assistance, SEND, or Childcare (preferred).
