Position: Toolsetter

Reports to: Production Supervisor
The Staffing Network are looking to recruit an experienced Tool Setter to work at a leading manufacturing organisation in the Dudley and Worcester region. This is a key role ensuring tooling is set safely, efficiently, and in full compliance with quality and health & safety standards.
About the Role
As a Toolsetter, you will be responsible for setting, changing, and maintaining tooling to ensure smooth production flow. You will work closely with Production, Maintenance, Quality Assurance, Warehouse teams, and Management, supporting the shift operation and occasionally taking the lead when required.
Key Responsibilities
Tooling & Production Support

Set and change tooling in line with production schedules.

Prepare and feed coils through press machinery.

Complete first-off inspections, including nail bend tests and gauging of steel.

Carry out plate size changes and tool/chute adjustments for specific orders.

Remove tools for servicing, clean press areas, and prepare them for reinstall.
Quality & Safety Compliance

Perform inspection and testing tasks to ensure product compliance.

Segregate defective products and ensure correct identification and reporting.

Report tooling issues to the Tool Room and production issues to Maintenance.

Maintain high housekeeping standards (5S), ensuring tools and equipment are stored correctly.

Adhere to company Health & Safety and Quality policies at all times.

Report any deviations from standard operating procedures.
Shift Support & Leadership

Support the Supervisor in organising daily production activities.

Take the lead when required, ensuring processes run smoothly and product meets inspection standards.

Help coordinate staff during breakdowns or downtime, ensuring minimal disruption.

Ensure proper handover procedures are followed between shifts and that documentation is fully completed.

Qualifications & Experience
Essential:
-
Minimum 5 years of tool setting experience

ROSPA trained
-
Counterbalance Forklift Licence

Computer literacy
-
Strong technical background
Beneficial:

Reach Truck Licence

Overhead Crane Licence

First Aid training

Supervisory experience

Barcoding system experience
