Locum Senior Employment Lawyer – Remote Working – Wales - £55 Umbrella Our client, a Local Authority based in the South West, is seeking to appoint an experienced Senior Employment Lawyer to join its team on a locum basis. This assignment is offered on a full or part time basis for an initial duration of three months, subject to potential extension thereafter. Both hybrid and remote working applicants will be considered.   This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified Solicitor or Barrister with previous Employment Law experience, preferably gained within the public sector, to become a part of a well-established local authority team. Daily duties may include: 

  • Conducting a high standard of Employment work and have TUPE knowledge  
  • Providing advice to Senior Managers in Council departments and other Officers and staff in HR on a wide range of employment law issues and claims made against the Authority 
  • Having a very good client working relationship, with the ability to pick up complex work 
  • Undertaking both contentious and non-contentious employment respondent work 
  • Conducting a caseload which may include Employment Tribunal cases, compromise agreements, internal appeals and appeals against Employment Tribunal decisions, unfair / constructive dismissal, whistle blowing, discrimination law, Transfer of Undertakings (Protection of Employment) Regulations, contracts of employment, reorganisation and redundancy and conduct and capability cases

 An umbrella rate of £55 per hour DOE is offered for this position.
