Michael Page is proud to be partnering with a high-profile public sector organisation in the South West to appoint a Contracts Manager to join their growing Commercial function.

This is a pivotal role at the heart of a Combined Authority that has secured nearly three-quarters of a billion pounds in new investment to deliver on ambitious regional priorities - from transport and housing to climate action and economic growth.

The Role

As Contracts Manager, you will play a key role in ensuring strategic contracts are expertly managed across a portfolio that includes major transport and infrastructure programmes and professional services agreements. You'll lead contract delivery, supplier performance, and risk mitigation, embedding contract management best practice across the organisation and influencing senior stakeholders to deliver maximum value and impact.

Profile

Key Responsibilities
  • Implementing and embedding contract management tools, strategies, and processes.

  • Leading a direct report and supporting a high-performing team function.

  • Supporting large-scale, high-risk contracts including NEC4 formats.

  • Driving continuous improvement and embedding contract management into programme and project governance.

  • Coaching and advising contract managers, while managing mobilisation and supplier performance across strategic contracts.

  • Promoting consistent standards, social value delivery, and good commercial governance.

Job Offer

About You

We are looking for a confident and skilled contract management professional with:

  • Strong NEC4 knowledge and experience with complex public sector contracts.

  • Proven leadership in a matrix or politically influenced environment.

  • Experience managing supplier relationships, driving commercial outcomes, and embedding policy and process improvements.

  • Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and strategic planning skills.

Desirable: CIPFA, CIPS, MCIPS qualification, experience working with capital projects and a background in public sector environments.
