Civil Design Engineer - Dundee


About the Opportunity
We're working with a leading UK consultancy seeking a talented Civil Design Engineer to join their growing team in Dundee. This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to a wide range of infrastructure, drainage, and development projects across the UK - all within a collaborative, forward-thinking environment that values professional growth and technical excellence.


The Role
As a Civil Engineer, you'll take a hands-on role in the design, coordination, and delivery of civil engineering projects from concept through to completion. You'll work closely with clients, local authorities, and multidisciplinary teams to deliver innovative and sustainable engineering solutions.


Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare detailed civil engineering designs, drawings, and specifications.
  • Undertake feasibility studies, site assessments, and investigations.
  • Manage and coordinate civil works throughout all project stages.
  • Produce calculations for highways, drainage, and earthworks using software such as Civil 3D, MicroDrainage, and AutoCAD.
  • Liaise with clients, contractors, and stakeholders to ensure technical and safety compliance.
  • Support project management activities, including scheduling, budgeting, and reporting.
  • Conduct site visits and provide technical input during construction.
  • Ensure all work meets CDM Regulations and health and safety standards.


Skills & Experience

  • Degree-qualified in Civil Engineering (BEng/BSc or MEng/MSc).
  • Proven experience in UK civil or infrastructure engineering.
  • Proficient in AutoCAD and civil design software (e.g., Civil 3D, MicroDrainage, or Revit).
  • Strong knowledge of UK design standards (DMRB, Sewers for Adoption, BS/EN).
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and coordination skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
