This is a superb opportunity to join my client, an innovative, industry-leading Multidisciplinary Consultancy, dedicated to broadening their geographical reach by establishing a new office location in beautiful Scotland. Known for lending their expertise to a diverse range of projects across the landscape architecture, planning, and civil engineering fields, they are proactively seeking a driven, experienced Principal Civil Engineer with extensive knowledge of infrastructure design, who is willing to win, manage, and successfully deliver on a range of challenging projects. You will have a genuine hand in building and leading a newly-established team of design engineers, based near the picturesque, green city of Dunfermline.

Responsibilities for the role of Principal Civil Engineer include:
- Overseeing a number of interesting projects and developments
- Leading the day-to-day running of projects at all stages of the process, from inception through to successful delivery and implementation
- Mentoring and supporting colleagues throughout their careers, and overseeing their Continuing Professional Development (CPD)
- Building and maintaining important, professional client and stakeholder relations
- Preparing, checking, and submitting reports, drawings, calculations, and other technical documents
- Upholding company policies, procedures, and best practice
- Enforcing the appropriate health and safety standards at all times
- Contributing to the company's business development strategies, acting as a trusted representative at client meetings, site visits, etc.
Required skills and experience for the role of Principal Civil Engineer include:
- A UK Bachelor's Degree (or equivalent qualification) in Civil Engineering (or a cognate discipline)
- Possess Chartered Status with a recognised Professional Body (e.g., ICE)
- Extensive experience in a design role, within a UK consultancy setting
- Demonstrable experience of working with infrastructure (namely drainage and highways), housing developments, and energy projects
- Experience of earthworks design and drainage network modelling
- Proficient in the use of various software packages (to include Civils 3D, MicroDrainage, AutoCAD, etc.)
- Considerable experience of writing, checking, and amending reports and other technical documents for submission
- Prior experience of leading both projects and people within the sector
- Experience of managing client and stakeholder relations
- Excellent organisation, time management, team leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Hold a full, valid UK driving licence
Desirable skills and experience for the role of Principal Civil Engineer include:
- A UK Master's Degree (or equivalent qualification)
- Experience of authoring Flood Risk Assessments
- Experience of preparing Transport Assessments
- Experience of working in a public-facing role
