This standalone role offers a fantastic opportunity to shape the safety culture of our organisation and take ownership of the Health and Safety function. Working closely with the Group General Manager, you will play a vital role in upholding legislative and internal standards, reducing risk, preventing accidents, and fostering a culture of awareness, prevention, and accountability.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Monitor and ensure adherence to health and safety regulations across all departments.
  • Conduct regular site inspections and audits to maintain safety standards.
  • Develop and maintain risk assessments and safe systems of work.
  • Identify potential hazards and recommend preventative measures.
  • Participate in monthly meetings, presenting relevant Health & Safety data.
  • Investigate accidents, incidents, and near-misses; prepare reports and suggest corrective actions.
  • Ensure that all health and safety documentation is up to date, including policies, procedures, and audits.
  • Deliver health and safety training and induction sessions to staff and contractors.
  • Act as the key point of contact for external health and safety authorities and ensure compliance with all legislation.
  • Maintain records of safety-related incidents and produce statistics for management.
  • Support the development of emergency procedures and evacuation plans.
  • Ensure appropriate PPE is provided and used properly.
  • Stay up to date with new legislation and industry best practices.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • NEBOSH General Certificate in Occupational Health & Safety or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar health and safety role.
  • Demonstrable experience of carrying out Risk Assessments.
  • Excellent communication, time management, and organisational skills.
  • Ability to work to deadlines and manage multiple tasks.
  • Proficient in the use of MS Office software.
