We are keen to strengthen the operations team with a hands-on, practically minded engineer who can bridge the gap between the shop floor and production planning, purchasing, and estimating functions.
This is a key role within the operations team, ideal for someone with a strong practical engineering background who is ready to take on a broader business and customer facing role. You will be involved in coordinating production planning, managing procurement activities, and supporting estimating for new projects and repeat orders. The role offers a dynamic blend of technical insight and operational coordination.
Key Responsibilities:

Develop and manage production schedules in line with customer requirements and manufacturing capacity.

Collaborate with the shop floor to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of products.

Liaise with suppliers to source raw materials and components

Liaising with customers and clients

Support cost estimation for customer quotes, using practical engineering knowledge to assess time, materials, and process requirements.

Continuously identify and implement improvements in planning and procurement processes.

Work closely with engineering, quality, and production teams to support the seamless execution of manufacturing projects.
Required Skills and Qualifications:

Hands-on engineering background

Strong understanding of machining, fabrication, or assembly processes.

Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.

Exposure to cost estimating or quoting in an engineering context.
- HNC/HND or degree in an Engineering or a related discipline (or equivalent experience).
