My clients are looking to appoint Senior Area Quantity Surveyor on a permanent basis to be based at their regional office in Chester Le Street. My clients are a multiple disciplined construction business with this role sitting in their Highways department.

My clients are looking for a candidate to bring commercial expertise to the forefront of regional projects, shaping financial performance while ensuring strategic control over contract delivery.

Key Accountabilities:

- Leading the preparation of valuations and accounts while driving timely and accurate invoicing
- Collaborating with delivery teams to prepare robust financial forecasts and performance reports
- Ensuring compliance with contract terms and prompt payment cycles
- Managing subcontractor payments and reducing WIP and debt
- Securing maximum commercial returns and managing contractual risk and dispute resolution
- Overseeing procurement processes and ensuring risks are well controlled
- Supporting and developing a high-performing commercial team
- Mentor subordinate staff

Skills, Experience & Qualifications:

- Relevant HND or Degree in Quantity Surveying
- Experience of using the NEC forms of contract
- Experience of highway projects
- Drive and ambition to succeed
- Good interpersonal skills as well as good oral and written communication skills
- Numeracy and analytical ability
- Strong negotiation skills
- A collaborative leadership style with strong communication and coaching abilities
- Commercial awareness
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Proficient in the use of MS Office
- Appropriate CSCS card -desirable
- Valid Driving licence
