Salary: £85 - £100 per day
Are you passionate about supporting young people with social, emotional, and mental health needs? TeacherActive is working in partnership with a highly respected alternative provision to recruit a Learning Support Assistant (LSA) who is committed, compassionate, and ready to make a meaningful impact.
This permanent, term-time only role (35 hours per week) offers a unique opportunity to support KS3 and KS4 students who have experienced challenges in mainstream education. You will play a vital role in helping pupils re-engage with learning in a nurturing and structured environment.
Role Details:
- Hours: 35 hours per week
- Mon & Fri: 8:30 am – 3:30 pm
- Tues & Thurs: 8:30 am – 4:00 pm
- Wed: 8:30 am – 5:00 pm
What We’re Looking For:
- Previous experience in a school or educational setting
- GCSEs in English and Maths (Grade C/4 or above) – essential
- A calm, resilient and empathetic approach to working with young people
- A strong team player who can collaborate effectively with teaching staff and external professionals
- A genuine passion for supporting pupils with SEMH needs and challenging behaviour
- Someone who demonstrates unconditional positive regard and a commitment to restorative practice
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide in-class support to help students access learning
- Deliver 1:1 interventions and work with small groups
- Assist in preparing and organising engaging learning resources
- Help maintain a positive, respectful and safe classroom environment
- Foster meaningful relationships that support pupils’ academic and personal development
