A large, welcoming academy are looking for 12 full-time class teaching assistants to join their team from September 2025.

The Role

The school are looking for multiple teaching assistants to work across both KS1 and KS2. In the mornings you will be based within a classroom providing learning support to pupils working at all levels. Your role will include supporting the teacher with administrative duties, preparing lessons and activities and covering break duties. In the afternoons you will be delivering maths/phonics/literacy interventions, teaching small groups of 5-8 students. In these sessions you will cover topics learned in class the previous week to support those children who had gaps in their learning. This is an excellent role for a graduate who is looking to go in to a career as a primary teacher as you will gain direct teaching experience alongside whole class support.

The Academy

This large all-through academy is based in Edgware, with good local transport links and a popular choice for families in the local area. In this specially designed building pupils have the opportunity to grow and develop with facilities specifically designed for younger children, but with the benefits of the resources of the attached secondary academy. There is a strong leadership team in place within the primary academy and staff and pupils enjoy a smaller, community atmosphere. There are good opportunities for professional development across the academy including teacher training so this is a great option for graduates and those looking to further their career in education.

The school are open to applications from with previous experience or passionate and committed individuals looking to enter the sector. All roles are full-time and are offered on a contract basis from September 2023 – July 2024.

A group interview day will be held at the academy on Tuesday 10th June Tues 17th June where senior leaders will be meeting all short-listed Teaching Assistants.

In order to be considered for one of these roles, you will be required to complete the registration process with Philosophy Education and be available on either the 10 or 17th June  to attend the school.
