Equifind have partnered with a very successful plant hire firm to assist them with their search for a financial controller to join the team in Edinburgh for the next 6 months.

You will be the finance leader and be responsible for the monthly financial and statutory reports for the business, providing valuable insights for the senior management team.

Key duties and responsibilities for this financial controller position include but aren’t limited to:

  • Developing and implement financial strategies aligned with the firms’ goals
  • Overseeing the budgeting and forecasting processes for all financial operations
  • Preparing and presenting financial reports including monthly, quarterly and annual statements to senior management
  • Analysing the performance of the financials and provide commentary and insights to the board and senior management
  • Providing financial insights and guidance to support strategic business decisions
  • Assisting the senior leadership team to develop short, medium and long terms financial plans
  • Be the key contact point for all external stakeholders
  • Handling all budgeting and forecasting for the year
  • Ad hoc projects as and when requested by senior management

Experience & Qualifications

  • Fully Qualified Accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) with 5-8 years PQE
  • Experience of Great Plains is beneficial
  • Proven experience as a finance leader
  • Experience of managing teams
  • Strong communication & excel skills
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Exceptional leadership and communication abilities.

About the business

A family owned and managed business, that has a strong presence in the market. The business has been in operation for many years, and they continue to look forward evolving and grabbing market growth.

You will be managing a small team and looking after their training and development. This is a really hands-on role, in a great team, that has a wide remit of duties and responsibilities.

This is an office-based opportunity, where you will be required to be in the office 4-5 days per week to integrate with the wider business, and allows you the best chance to gain a strong understanding of the financial reporting. Flexibility will be given as and when needed.

The working culture is highly professionalism but offers a strong social feel that creates a very enjoyable place to work. We will be looking for someone who loves to interact with others and has a proven track record in managing the financial reporting for a group.

Rate/Salary

This exciting opportunity for a financial controller will pay between £375-£500 per day, depending on industry background and experience.

Ideally, you will be available to start within two weeks, as we are lining up interviews for next week.

This has been earmarked for 6 months but if things go well then this could lead to a permanent position.
