This is a fantastic opportunity to join my client, a highly-respected, innovative Multidisciplinary Consultancy broadening their geographical reach by establishing a brand new office location in Scotland. Renowned for lending their expertise to an array of high-profile projects across the landscape architecture, planning, and civil engineering fields, they are actively seeking a talented, experienced Senior Civil Engineer with extensive knowledge of infrastructure design who is willing to take on a diverse array of challenging projects. You will be working with a newly-established team of infrastructure design professionals, based in the beautiful, culturally-rich Scottish Capital City of Edinburgh.

Responsibilities for the role of Senior Civil Engineer include:

  • Contributing to the design of a range of projects and developments
  • Overseeing the day-to-day running of engineering projects, from initial inception through to successful delivery
  • Mentoring and supporting colleagues in their development within the company
  • Liaising with clients and other stakeholders across the public and private sectors
  • Preparing and checking reports, specifications, drawings, calculations, risk assessments, method statements, and other such technical documents
  • Adhering to company policies, procedures, and best practice, upholding the appropriate health and safety standards at all times
  • Acting as a company representative at client meetings, site visits, etc.

Required skills and experience for the role of Senior Civil Engineer include:

  • A Degree (or equivalent qualification) in Civil Engineering
  • Hold Chartered Status with a relevant, recognised professional body
  • Experience of working in a design-based role, within a UK consultancy or Local Authority
  • Considerable experience of working on infrastructure (highways and drainage), housing developments, and energy engineering projects
  • Experience of earthworks and drainage network modelling
  • Proficient in the use of various software packages (to include Civils 3D, MicroDrainage, AutoCAD, and others)
  • Considerable experience of writing and checking a variety of technical documents
  • Demonstrable experience of client and stakeholder liaison
  • Excellent organisation, time management, team leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills

Desirable skills and experience for the role of Senior Civil Engineer include:

  • A Master's Degree (or equivalent qualification) in Civil Engineering
  • Experience of authoring Flood Risk Assessments
  • Experience of preparing Transport Assessments
  • Experience of leading projects/teams
  • Experience of working in a public-facing role
  • Hold a full, valid UK driving licence
