Are you a driven and ambitious Senior Town Planner looking to take the next step in your career? I'm working exclusively with a highly respected planning consultancy with a growing presence across Scotland, and they're looking to add a talented planner to their Edinburgh team.

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a supportive, forward-thinking practice where you'll play a key role in shaping a diverse range of development projects across urban, rural, and environmental sectors.



The Role

As a Senior Town Planner, you will:

  • Manage a varied portfolio of planning applications, appeals, and strategic land promotions

  • Provide expert guidance to clients, landowners, developers, and stakeholders

  • Prepare planning statements, design & access statements, and site appraisals

  • Lead on pre-application discussions and public consultations

  • Support junior team members and contribute to business development activities

  • Represent the consultancy at committee meetings, hearings, and public events



About You

You'll be a great fit if you have:

  • MRTPI status (or are very close to chartership)

  • Strong experience within a planning consultancy or local authority environment

  • Excellent understanding of Scottish planning policy and legislation

  • Strong written communication and project-management skills

  • Confidence in client-facing situations and a collaborative working style
