Contentious Construction Lawyer (4+ years' PQE)

A standout opportunity has arisen for a lawyer with expertise in contentious construction to join a high-performing and supportive team in Edinburgh. This permanent, full-time role offers the chance to work on a varied and high-value caseload spanning energy, infrastructure, commercial developments and public sector disputes.

You will be a Senior Construction Lawyer with at least 4 years’ PQE and a proven track record in contentious matters. This team is known for its collaborative culture, early responsibility and outstanding support for career development – offering real prospects for progression and involvement in business development.

What you'll be doing:

  • Handling complex construction disputes for a wide client base including developers, contractors, lenders and public bodies
  • Advising across sectors such as infrastructure, energy and utilities
  • Leading on mandates and supervising junior team members as appropriate
  • Contributing to the growth and success of the contentious construction practice
  • Engaging in client relationship development and BD initiatives

The ideal candidate will:

  • Have a minimum 2:1 degree and ideally 4+ years' PQE in construction law
  • Strong experience in contentious work gained within a recognised construction or projects team
  • Be a confident communicator who can lead matters and support colleagues across disciplines
  • Have a proactive mindset with a commitment to continuous improvement
