Job Title: Accounts Assistant
Location: Pentcaitland, East Lothian (12 miles SE of Edinburgh)
Remuneration: 16.48 - 17.58 per hour
Contract Details: Temp To Perm

Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM

Our client is on the lookout for a proactive Accounts Assistant to help keep their financial operations running smoothly. This role is perfect for someone passionate about transactional finance and credit control!

Responsibilities:

Bank Reconciliation: Perform daily and monthly reconciliations of bank accounts to ensure accuracy.
Sales Ledger (S/L): Process customer invoices, allocate payments, and resolve any queries swiftly.
Purchase Ledger (P/L): Match, batch, and code supplier invoices; prepare payment runs efficiently.
Credit Control: Monitor aged debt, chase outstanding payments, and maintain excellent customer relationships.
Purchase Orders (POs): Create and manage purchase orders, ensuring proper authorisation and invoice matching.
Invoicing: Generate timely and accurate sales invoices in line with contractual terms.
Commercial Finance Support: Assist with reporting, margin analysis, and support wider finance initiatives.

Skills & Experience:

Previous experience in a similar finance/accounts role is essential.
Strong understanding of transactional finance processes.
Good working knowledge of accounting software and Excel.
Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team.
