Commercial Manager

Location: Inverness (Hybrid – 3 days on site, 2 days from home)
Duration: Long-term (5–6 years, through 2031–2032)

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Commercial Manager to join  major infrastructure projects valued at over £1 billion, based in the Inverness region. This is a long-term role offering the chance to play a key part in one of the UK’s most significant projects.

• Lead and manage the commercial function across multiple sites, ensuring consistency, compliance, and commercial control.

• Manage and administer NEC contracts (Options A–C), including target cost arrangements.

• Work proactively to resolve commercial issues and provide solutions that support project delivery.

• Support and mentor a young and developing workforce, creating a positive and inclusive environment.

• Collaborate closely with the wider project team to maintain transparency and alignment with business objectives.

• Provide robust commercial reporting and risk management across all project stages.

Essential skills and experience:

• Proven experience in multi-site commercial management.

• Strong working knowledge of NEC contracts (Options A–C) and target cost management.

• Demonstrable experience in resolving commercial issues and providing strategic solutions.

• Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to lead, mentor, and engage others.

• High personal resilience and awareness of locational challenges, including potential protestor activity or logistical complexities.

Desirable:

• Based in or near Inverness (accommodation or a house may be provided for the right candidate).

• Experience from any industry – we welcome applicants from all sectors who can demonstrate strong commercial principles and the right behaviours. Full technical training will be provided.
