About the Role:
I’m looking for a reliable and motivated Personal Assistant to support me in living independently and fulfilling my goals. This is not a care or nursing role — it’s about working in partnership to support me with day-to-day tasks and enable me to live life on my terms.
Full bespoke training will be provided to help you understand and meet my specific needs. A standard DBS certificate will be required.
A bit about me:
I'm an ambitious, optimistic, and independent individual who uses a wheelchair and has a complex medical history. I run my own business, and enjoy gardening — especially growing my own food. My two assistance dogs are a big part of my life, and I work flexibly both from home and outside.
What I’m looking for in a Personal Assistant:
The ideal person will be dependable, proactive, and comfortable working closely with me in my home. Key qualities include:
-
Comfortable around animals – I have two assistance dogs (Essential)
-
Full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle (Essential)
-
May be required to drive my adapted vehicle occasionally
-
Confident with IT and online learning
-
Great sense of humour, calm, and patient
-
Reliable, organised, and able to work to high standards
-
Fluent in English and a good communicator
-
Discreet, trustworthy, and understands the importance of confidentiality
-
Takes pride in their work and is flexible to changing needs
Typical Duties:
-
Household tasks (vacuuming, dusting, mopping, etc.)
-
Cleaning and maintaining my van and wheelchairs
-
Preparing meals or batch-cooking for the freezer
-
Supporting me with tasks I cannot complete independently
-
Any other reasonable assistance as required
Note: No prior care experience is necessary – full training tailored to my needs will be provided.
