An outstanding and highly respected SEN Trust with multiple campuses across Enfield and Edmonton is seeking a committed and enthusiasticSEN Teaching Assistantto join their team. This is a full-time role supporting studentswith Autism Spectrum Condition and Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs. Key stage preference can be accomodated (operating from EYFS to Further Education).
About the Role:
You will be joining a dedicated team within a specialist provision, helping to create a safe, structured, and positive learning environment for students with complex needs. The trust is well-regarded for its inclusive approach, exceptional leadership, and commitment to staff development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide 1:1 and small group support to students with autism and SEMH needs
- Assist in delivering tailored learning activities under the guidance of teaching staff
- Support emotional regulation and behaviour management strategies
- Help maintain a structured, nurturing, and engaging classroom environment
- Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and other professionals to support each student's individual education plan (IEP)
- Contribute to daily routines, enrichment activities, and school events
- Monitor student progress and provide feedback to teaching staff
- Uphold safeguarding and child protection procedures at all times
Candidate Requirements:
- Previous experience working with children with SEN, particularly ASC and/or SEMH
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Calm, resilient, and patient nature
- Ability to work effectively within a team and follow direction
- Willingness to learn and engage with training opportunities
- Enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to obtain one
