About the Role
As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with class teachers, SENCOs, and wider support staff to provide tailored assistance to pupils with a range of additional needs, including autism (ASD), ADHD, speech and language difficulties, and social, emotional, and mental health needs. You will be instrumental in helping students access learning, build confidence, and achieve their full potential.
Key Responsibilities
Provide 1:1 and small group support in and out of the classroom
Implement strategies recommended by SENCOs and external specialists
Encourage independence, engagement, and positive behaviour
Support the development of social and emotional skills
Maintain a safe, inclusive, and respectful learning environment
What Were Looking For
Experience working with children or young people with SEND (school, care, or youth work background welcomed)
A patient, empathetic, and proactive approach
Strong communication and teamwork skills
Flexibility and resilience in a dynamic school setting
