Join one of the largest legal practices in Surrey and a leading law firm in the Southeast. We are looking for a Legal Office Assistant / Receptionist to join our Central Services department in Epsom. This role is crucial for maintaining the high standards of client service that we are best known for, acting as the first point of contact and an ambassador of our firm's values.

Day-to-Day of the Role:

  • Manage incoming and outgoing mail and faxes efficiently.
  • Handle post, deliveries, and client payments, ensuring timely distribution.
  • Maintain and monitor file archiving databases; arrange file retrieval from storage as needed.
  • Perform high-volume photocopying for court bundles and distribute them under deadline pressures.
  • Manage stationery stock and run errands as required.
  • Undertake general administrative duties and basic IT tasks, including typing attendance notes.
  • Handle telephone calls, take accurate messages, and direct calls to appropriate personnel.
  • Welcome clients, verify identification for Money Laundering Regulation purposes, and maintain a tidy reception area.
  • Provide refreshments and support a welcoming environment for all visitors.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • GCSE in Maths and English (A*-C) or (9-4) or equivalent.
  • Law degree 2:1 or higher.
  • Proven client-facing experience, with a courteous and efficient telephone manner.
  • Professional appearance and readiness to adhere to firm's dress code, including wearing a uniform if required.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
  • Computer literacy and ability to work independently without close supervision.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle pressure and difficult situations diplomatically.
  • Team-oriented with a flexible and cooperative attitude.
