ABOUT THE ROLEWe are seeking a dedicated and inspiring Teacher of History to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity for both experienced educators and Early Career Teachers (ECTs), who will benefit from comprehensive support within the academy and through our partnership with the National Institute of Teaching.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIESAs a Teacher of History, your role will include:

  • Delivering a broad, balanced, and engaging curriculum
  • Supporting student progress and development, both academically and personally
  • Contributing to high standards of teaching and learning across the department
  • Participating in the planning and development of curriculum materials and resources
  • Engaging with professional development and the performance management process
  • Ensuring effective communication with students, parents, and colleagues
  • Supporting the pastoral care system, including responsibilities as a form tutor

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FORWe are looking for a committed and capable teacher who:

  • Holds QTS (or equivalent) and a relevant degree
  • Has experience teaching History at secondary level (teaching placements accepted)
  • Understands effective pedagogy and inclusive teaching strategies
  • Has knowledge of the National Curriculum at Key Stages 3 and 4
  • Is a strong team player, able to build positive working relationships
  • Has excellent communication and ICT skills, including the use of interactive technology
  • Can create a safe and stimulating learning environment
  • Communicates effectively with parents, carers, and external partners
  • Has strong organisational and time management skills
  • Is passionate about motivating and raising aspirations in students
