A fast-paced, values-led organisation is seeking a Employee Relations Advisor to take ownership of employee relations across the business. In this high-impact role, you’ll work closely with managers and employees to drive positive outcomes and ensure processes are handled with integrity and respect.

The Role

As the  Employee Relations Advisor, you’ll be the key point of contact for employee relations matters — including grievances, disciplinaries, performance issues, and sickness absence. You’ll ensure all cases are managed with professionalism, empathy, and legal compliance, while promoting a positive workplace culture.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and resolve ER cases, ensuring accurate documentation and process compliance.

  •  Provide guidance on investigations, hearings, and appeals, ensuring fair and consistent outcomes.

  • Support managers in managing long- and short-term absences, including return-to-work plans and reasonable adjustments.

  • Help managers conduct effective performance conversations and implement realistic improvement plans.

  • Act as a trusted advisor to managers and employees on all ER matters.

  • Deliver engaging training sessions on ER topics including conflict resolution and performance management.

  • Analyse HR data to identify trends and prepare reports for senior leadership.

  • Provide expert support through restructures, redundancies, and TUPE processes.

What You’ll Bring

  • HR qualification and solid experience in employee relations case management.

  • Up-to-date knowledge of UK employment law and best practice.

  • Confident communicator with strong interpersonal and coaching skills.

  • Analytical mindset and experience using HR systems and data.

  • Experience delivering ER training to managers.

  • Discretion, integrity, and professionalism in handling sensitive matters.

  • A calm, pragmatic approach in fast-paced or challenging situations.
