This South England Authority are looking for a Qualified Senior Childcare Lawyer. Details of the role are:

Remote working. To oversee and manage a caseload in an area of law allocated. To respond to requests for advice, representation etc, from the Council employees.To manage all aspects of court representation as required. To advise and/or present to courts, meetings, members at formal appeal hearings or as required by the County Solicitor. To assume a lead role in advising clients on specialist aspects of law and practice as required, e.g. Procurement, Employment, Human Rights, Child Care, Adult Social Care, Property and to organise/participate in training events as appropriate and/or necessary. To determine appeals under the Internal Dispute Resolution Procedure of the Local Government Pension Scheme and various internal appeal procedures if required. To take part in the Legal Services’ Out of Hours service to provide assistance to the Emergency Duty Team on matters of Childcare and Adult Social Care.

To apply for this role you must have:

  • A relevant Law Qualifications (LLB/LLM/Law Society admitted and Solicitor Regulatory Authority registered solicitor, Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Legal Executives or Bar Standards Board registered barrister)
  • Specialist in an area of law as required. A thorough knowledge of that area of law, good advocacy skills and considerable experience in case management is essential along with demonstrable experience of working in a particular field.
  • Be eligible to work within the UK
