Are you an experienced Mechanical Engineer with a strong background in building services?

Do you want to take on a vital contract role supporting a large and complex site, managing projects and ensuring compliance?


We're working with a leading organisation in Exeter that is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join their estates team on an 8-10 month contract. This is an immediate requirement to provide hands-on technical expertise and contractor management, bridging a critical gap within the team.



The Role

  • Deliver and oversee small works and maintenance projects
  • Manage and coordinate contractors, reviewing RAMS and ensuring compliance with H&S standards.
  • Provide technical support on building services, plant replacement, and asset management.
  • Work closely with stakeholders to develop briefs, produce specifications, and manage procurement.
  • Support the delivery of planned preventative maintenance (PPM) contracts.
  • Ensure all projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to a high standard of safety and quality.


The Person

  • Qualified Mechanical Engineer
  • Strong building services experience
  • Proven track record in maintenance, small works, and compliance.
  • Able to manage contractors effectively and solve technical problems independently.
