Tell me more!
You’ll lead the day-to-day operations of Final Assembly: setting clear priorities, allocating resources, and ensuring safe, compliant and efficient production. With material flow presenting a key challenge, this role offers genuine scope to streamline and harmonise processes, boosting output and delivering more predictable results.
You’ll manage three direct reports — the Production Supervisor, Production Controller and Logistics Manager, with around 55 professionals reporting through them. You’ll run Tiered Accountability, monitor KPIs, coach and develop your team, and deliver continuous improvement across quality, flow and cost. A vital part of your role will be strengthening workforce capability through training, development and succession plans, ensuring the right skills are always available to meet customer demand. Above all, you’ll be accountable for achieving performance across Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost and People.
What we’re looking for
• Proven leadership and demonstrable success within a precision manufacturing assembly
• High mix, low volume manufacturing experience
• ERP fluency and confidence with cycle times, yields and KPIs
• Strong knowledge and experience of working within highly regulated environments
• A proactive, coaching leadership style with strong communication skills
• LEAN certification highly desirable
This is an excellent opportunity to join a respected aerospace company employing 180 people on site, with steady year-on-year growth. The business is financially robust, continues to invest heavily in people and technology, and has a clear plan to grow from £25m to £30m turnover within the next five years.
