You will be assisting a Year R pupil with a range of additional needs including being non – verbal. The school is an excellent school catering for all the child’s needs and have even constructed a sensory room to support. If you are empathetic, consistent and have experience working with children who have additional needs, THIS is the role for you:

Duties will mostly include:

  • 1:1 care for a child in Year R with additional needs
  • Bucket time and sharing and taking turn games to be supported
  • Assisting with their health and hygiene
  • Monitoring and ensuring the child eats well
  • Supporting with emotional and social well being
  • Helping develop life skills and mentoring them to have a positive outlook

The Successful candidate will:

  • Have some experience of working with children with Autism and other needs
  • Be empathetic, consistent and understanding
  • Promote confidence independence and self-belief
  • Build up positive relationships with pupils and staff
  • Understand or be willing to learn how children develop, think and learn
  • Be resilient and patient
  • Have experience in a similar role or have a passion to learn the skills above
