About the Role

We are Learning Support Assistant to join the team at a welcoming Sixth Form College in the Fareham/Gosport area. This is a fantastic long-term opportunity, with the college looking to make the role permanent.

You will be supporting students with Education, Health and Care Plans in the classroom, helping them to access their courses and achieve their potential. Alongside this, you will also provide general classroom assistance, working collaboratively with teachers and staff to create a positive and inclusive learning environment.

This is a rewarding role where patience, empathy, and strong communication skills will make a real difference to the lives of young people aged 16–19.

What You’ll Be Doing
  • Supporting EHCP students in lessons across a range of subjects.
  • Providing 1:1 or small group support where required.
  • Assisting teaching staff with adapting learning resources to suit individual needs.
  • Encouraging students to build independence, confidence, and resilience.
  • Supporting the smooth running of the classroom and fostering a positive learning environment.
  • A supportive and inclusive Sixth Form College with a strong reputation in the local community.
  • Experienced SEN and teaching teams who work closely together.
  • A commitment to valuing every student and ensuring they are supported to achieve their goals.
  • Conveniently located in the Fareham/Gosport area, with good transport links.
  • Experience supporting young people with additional needs (college or school-based is desirable but not essential).
  • A caring, patient, and flexible approach.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with students and staff.
