Electrical Design Engineer Responsibilities:
  • Translate system requirements into validated electrical designs for automation projects
  • Produce and review electrical schematics, harness designs, and system architecture documentation
  • Collaborate with mechanical and software teams to develop integrated design solutions
  • Support testing of prototypes and production systems, analysing data and implementing improvements
  • Lead or contribute to internal design reviews, mentoring junior engineers where appropriate
  • Ensure compliance with global safety and electrical standards including IEC, UL, and SEMI
  • Work with procurement and manufacturing to optimise designs for production
  • Travel to other engineering and customer sites as required
What We’re Looking For:
  • Degree-qualified in Electrical Engineering or related subject (essential)
  • Minimum of 4 years’ experience in an electrical design or development environment (essential)
  • Strong working knowledge of AutoCAD Electrical, EPLAN or SolidWorks Electrical (essential)
  • Practical experience with control systems, PLCs, sensors, and CANbus/Modbus networks (desirable)
  • Hands-on testing and fault diagnostics experience (essential)
  • Functional safety awareness (IEC 61511, HAZOP, LOPA) and familiarity with CE/UL/EMC standards (desirable)
  • Confident communicator, proactive problem-solver, and team player
