Finance Manager | Camberley / Hybrid |  Salary £55k

Are you a hands-on finance professional who thrives in a standalone role with room to grow?Do you enjoy building structure, improving reporting, and being the go-to person for all things finance?

We're working with a newly acquired industrial services business in Camberley, now part of a growing private equity-backed group, to find a Finance Manager who can take ownership of the finance function and help bring capability in-house.

The Opportunity

This £4m turnover business has outsourced its finance operations until now—bookkeeping, payroll, VAT, and year-end reporting have all been handled externally. With the backing of a private equity group and a clear growth trajectory ahead, it’s time to professionalise the function internally.

You’ll work closely with the local Managing Director and the Group CFO to set up core systems (likely Sage), establish monthly reporting processes, and ensure sound financial governance across the board.

This is a role for someone who enjoys autonomy, is happy rolling up their sleeves, and sees the value in building things properly from the ground up.

 What You'll Be Doing

  • Full ownership of the general ledger and financial operations
  • Introducing and delivering monthly management reporting
  • Overseeing payroll and cashflow
  • Managing VAT and other HMRC submissions
  • Implementing a basic Sage finance system
  • Supporting local and group-level decision making with accurate and timely financial data

What We're Looking For

  • Experience running the finance function in a small, owner-led or industrial business
  • Comfortable being the "number one" in finance in a standalone environment
  • Familiarity with Sage and setting up basic finance systems from scratch is a big plus
  • Hands-on, proactive, and eager to grow with the business
  • Based near Camberley and open to a hybrid working arrangement

Why This Role?

  • Join a profitable, stable business entering an exciting new chapter under PE ownership
  • Be part of a wider group with real opportunity for career progression
  • Shape the finance function and make a visible impact from day one
  • Work closely with leadership while retaining flexibility in how and where you work
