Product Manager – Industrial Machinery / Packaging Equipment

Farnborough

Location: Hybrid – 2 days per week in the office, 3 days from home
Salary: £60,000 – £80,000 + bonus + 25 days holiday

About the Role

We are seeking a Product Manager with a passion for engineering innovation and product development to join a leading manufacturer of industrial machinery and packaging equipment.

In this key role, you’ll take ownership of new product development, manage modifications to existing products, and work closely with customers to understand and solve real-world technical challenges. You’ll act as the vital link between engineering, R&D, and sales, helping to shape future product strategy and direction.

This is an exciting opportunity to influence design and product performance while supporting commercial growth across diverse industrial applications.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and coordinate new product development projects from concept through to launch.
  • Manage product modifications and enhancements based on customer feedback.
  • Partner closely with the sales team to understand market needs and translate them into design requirements.
  • Build strong relationships with customers through face-to-face visits, technical presentations, and support on applications.
  • Work with engineering and R&D to ensure solutions meet performance, cost, and reliability goals.
  • Analyse product performance, market trends, and competitor activity to support strategic decision-making.

About You

We’re looking for a commercially aware, technically minded professional who enjoys working with physical products and solving customer problems.

Essential Skills & Experience:

  • Engineering degree or equivalent technical qualification.
  • Experience with capital equipment, packaging machinery, or similar mechanical systems.
  • Strong understanding of product design, hardware, and R&D processes.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage customers and internal teams.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects and priorities effectively.
  • Passionate, hands-on, and collaborative approach to problem-solving.
  •  

Desirable:

  • Experience in a product management, project, or applications engineering role.
  • Background in mechanical or electro-mechanical machinery.
  • Commercially astute
