- Lead and manage the Paint Shop team to meet daily production targets and quality standards.
- Collaborate with other cell leaders to ensure a seamless workflow through the department.
- Plan and optimize use of materials, labour, and equipment for maximum efficiency.
- Implement and uphold lean manufacturing principles, identifying opportunities for continuous improvement.
- Ensure effective communication of production goals, schedules, and priorities to the team.
- Monitor staffing levels and support workforce planning to meet production requirements.
- Carry out performance reviews, identify training needs, and support team development.
- Promote and maintain high standards of health, safety, and housekeeping in line with 7S principles.
- Manage inventory levels of paints and materials, ensuring stock accuracy and BOM (Bill of Materials) updates.
- Oversee purchasing requirements for raw materials and consumables.
- Support budget planning and departmental cost control.
- Address day-to-day personnel matters, including scheduling, leave planning, and performance issues.
- Ensure all operations comply with internal quality and safety standards.
- Previous leadership experience in a production or manufacturing environment.
- Strong understanding of wet and powder painting processes.
- Proven ability to manage and motivate a team.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- A proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement.
- Experience with lean manufacturing methodologies.
- Knowledge of health & safety regulations in a production environment.
- Experience managing departmental budgets and inventory systems.
