Required skills:

  • Experience of building teams to deliver construction projects and multi-sector project delivery experience, including defence
  • Highly developed interpersonal skills with an ability to deal with executives at senior level and equivalent on a day-to-day basis as well as excellent stakeholder management skills
  • Working knowledge of Planning Application and GPDO process as well as sustainability and energy aspects of project delivery
  • Knowledge of building regulations, JSP standards and the Construction Design Management (CDM) regulations and must have acted as client or similar on a construction related project
  • Knowledge of risk management processes and techniques, and environmental legislation and ecological regulation
  • Working knowledge of NEC contracts as well as JCT with a detailed range of knowledge of civil engineering, infrastructure and building works methods
  • A professional qualification in the form of degree, accreditation (APM, Prince 2, CIOB) or Chartered status
  • Degree qualified preferable in a vocational discipline

This role is 37 hours per week based at Portsmouth, Farnborough or Gosport. Hybrid working patterns are available. Travel to other client and customer sites will be expected.



Your responsibilities:

  • Organising medium scale projects, the project team and its delivery
  • Defining and agreeing an appropriate budget, then managing and reporting progress against the agreed cost plan
  • Managing the activities of the external advisors, including the management of their appointments via appointed Procurement Team Managers within the company
  • The management of project documentation to include bids, proposals and third party documentation
  • Deploying appropriate risk management strategies and methods for controlling quality
