I am looking for a Senior Sous Chef - Farnham, - up to £48k

This is an exciting new independently-owned gastropub and fine dining restaurant, set to open its doors soon under the direction of a highly acclaimed Executive Head Chef. The vision is to create a destination dining experience that celebrates hyper-seasonal British produce, embraces sustainability, and champions zero-waste cooking.

The menu will blend refined comfort with bold, flavour-driven creativity,a celebration of modern British dining with an innovative twist.

Senior Sous Chef Role

As Senior Sous Chef, you will be the right hand to our Executive Head Chef, helping to lead and inspire the kitchen team in delivering exceptional, memorable food. This is a hands-on role suited to a passionate, ambitious chef who thrives in a creative, fast-paced environment and wants to play a key part in shaping a brand-new opening.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the Executive Head Chef in day-to-day kitchen operations.

  • Lead by example to maintain the highest standards of quality, consistency, and creativity.

  • Mentor and develop junior chefs, fostering a positive and professional kitchen culture.

  • Champion sustainability and zero-waste cooking practices.

  • Contribute ideas and collaborate on menu development.

  • Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, and kitchen standards.

Senior Sous Chef profile
  • Proven experience as a Sous or Senior Sous Chef in a high-quality kitchen (gastropub, fine dining, or similar).

  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.

  • A passion for seasonal British produce, sustainability, and innovative cooking.

  • Calm under pressure, highly organised, and detail-focused.

  • A natural collaborator with excellent communication skills.
