We are a well-established, family-run haulage business based in Faversham. With over three decades in the industry, we pride ourselves on delivering reliable, flexible, and customer-focused transport solutions across the UK. Our friendly team of 10 office staff work closely together to keep operations running smoothly, and we are now looking for an experienced Transport Planner to join us.

The Role

As a Transport Planner, you will play a key role in managing our daily transport operations, ensuring efficient routing, compliance with regulations, and top-class customer service. Working closely with drivers, customers, and our operations team, you will help keep our fleet moving efficiently and cost-effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and schedule deliveries and collections, optimising routes for cost and time efficiency.
  • Communicate effectively with drivers to provide instructions and resolve issues in real time.
  • Monitor transport activity to ensure legal compliance (driver hours, tachograph records, etc.).
  • Liaise with customers to confirm delivery times, resolve queries, and provide updates.
  • Work with the wider team to meet operational KPIs and service levels.
  • Manage any changes or delays, re-routing vehicles where necessary.
  • Maintain accurate records in our transport management system.

Requirements

  • Previous experience as a Transport Planner, ideally within the haulage or logistics sector.
  • Good working knowledge of UK transport regulations and driver hours.
  • Strong organisational and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, both with team members and customers.
  • IT literate with experience using transport management software.
  • Able to work in a small, close-knit team environment.
