We are seeking an Accounts Manager, ideally AAT qualified, to manage and control receipts and payments for the company. This role is crucial in ensuring that good cash flow is maintained and that suppliers are paid on time. The successful candidate will be responsible for a wide range of accounting tasks, from invoicing to bank reconciliations and VAT returns.
Day-to-day of the role:- Handle various types of invoicing including duty/VAT, freight/ancillary, and bulk invoicing.
- Issue monthly statements and chase payments to ensure timely receivables.
- Transfer invoices to Sage and record payments received.
- Process payments for credit suppliers and port operators' fees, including standard exams, security, and infrastructure fees.
- Record invoices for company commercial costs and perform bank reconciliations.
- Control cash flow and prepare monthly management reports.
- Manage the payment of monthly taxes and handle VAT returns.
- Maintain adequate stocks of office supplies and place orders as necessary.
- Perform any other reasonable tasks within an office environment.
- AAT qualification preferred.
- Proven experience in managing accounting functions, invoicing, and cash flow.
- Proficient in using accounting software, particularly Sage.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in handling financial data.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work independently.
