Purchase Ledger Clerk     Heathrow – office-based role Mon – Fri 40hrs a week

A family owned business in the automotive industry specialising in the sale and service of commercial vehicles is seeking an experienced commercially aware Purchase Ledger Clerk to join their finance team at Heathrow.

This role would suit someone who has Purchase Clerk experience in the automotive industry and experience of using Kerridge is advantageous.

Working within a small professional, focused, friendly team, the primary purpose of this role is to support our accounting team by timely processing of supplier invoices, payments and reconciliations. There are other administrative duties which involve supporting all accounting functions required to ensure accuracy and compliance with financial regulations.

Duties as Purchase Ledger clerk include: 

  • Invoice processing - review, verify, process and maintain scanning function, adhere to company policies and other administration
  • Payment processing - prepare and execute payment runs, maintain payment schedule, reconcile card statements, payment of staff expenses
  • Reconciliation - reconcile supplier statements, deal with queries relating to the same, maintain accurate transaction records
  • Financial reporting - assisting in the preparation of financial reports
  • Supplier communication - building and maintain positive relationships with suppliers and deal with queries/resolution
  • Compliance - ensuring compliance with internal controls, assisting with regulatory audits

Successful Candidates will have:

  • Experience in working in a fast paced accounts environment
  • Purchase Ledger experience or accounts payable roles
  • Proficiency in accounting software (Kerridge preferred) and Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel).
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent organisational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Excellent written and verbal English Language skills.
