A returning client of ours in the manufacturing industry is looking to recruit an Accounts Apprentice. As this is an apprentice Accounts Assistant role, we consider it to be a training position where we would expect the job holder to be willing to study for their AAT qualification Level 2 through Richmond College, whilst we will guide, train and support them in various aspects of accounting. So if you hold AAT level 1 and looking to start AAT level 2 in September then this ia a great opportunity for you.
Whilst the job holder will not do all of the jobs every week, below are examples of the aspects of accounting they will gain experience of:
Accounts Payable (2 days per week)• Inputting invoices from suppliers – two way and three-way matching• Supplier Statement reconciliations• Intercompany Reconciliations• GRNI Analysis• Payment runs• Query Resolution
Accounts Receivable (1 day per week)• Raising invoices to customers• Allocating payments from customers in accordance with customer remittances• Running and sending out customer statements• Resolving customer queries
General Ledger (2 days per week)• General Ledger Journals• Bank reconciliations• Balance Sheet Reconciliations• Fixed asset management – additions, disposals, depreciation and reconciliation• Employee Expenses• Ad hoc Project work.
Any other duties determined by the Finance Director within the scope of the individual’s ability. We would like the candidate to be IT literate and have good Excel skills. We would expect them to have a desire to improve and learn new tasks.
