Site Engineer

RTL Group are currently recruiting for an experienced Site Engineer to join a leading civil engineering contractor on a freelance basis, starting Tuesday 6th May 2025. This role offers the opportunity to work on a well-run project with a strong site team.

Responsibilities:

• Setting out detailed works in line with contract drawings and conducting regular checks

• Verifying accuracy of plans, drawings, and quantities

• Ensuring quality control standards are met and recorded in accordance with client specifications

• Providing engineering support to overcome technical challenges

• Carrying out pre-start site surveys

• Supporting timely handover of works and quality records with no outstanding defects

• Promoting and maintaining a high standard of Health, Safety, and Environmental compliance

• Conducting site calibration checks

• Assisting in resolving unexpected technical issues

Requirements:

• Proven experience on civil engineering projects, particularly in a setting-out role

• Strong knowledge of construction methods, health & safety, and relevant regulations

• Valid CSCS card

• Flexibility to travel nationwide as required

• Excellent communication skills and ability to liaise with site teams and clients

• Able to work effectively within a team

• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities
