- Mechanically assemble and build & material testing & machines, mechanical and pneumatic grips and other precise instruments, mechanically fitting parts including wiring looms and electronic displays.
- Competent use of Pillar Drill, Manual Lathe and other tool room equipment.
- Complete paperwork i.e. works orders etc.
- Assist in annual stock count.
- Ensure targets are met.
- Ensure parts are collated, fitted and adapted where necessary to equipment ready for testing.
- Report to Supervisor any changes to drawings to ensure full records are kept.
- Monitor and check quality assurance of products being checked.
- Apprentice trained time served, NVQ /HNC / HND / in Mechanical Engineering or other relevant discipline
- Close tolerance assembly skills in a machine build environment
- Competent with machine shop precision measuring equipment i.e. micrometres and verniers
- Able to read and interpret engineering drawings, general assembly drawings and geometric tolerances
- Able to operate a variety of hand and machine tools.
