Our OEM Client based in Gaydon, is searching for a Materials Engineer to join their team, Inside IR35. This is a 12-month contract position initially until 31st March 2026, with the potential for further extensions.

Umbrella Pay Rate: £27.03 per hour.

The primary purpose of the role is to support the development of A surface materials and technologies, for Bespoke and Personalisation projects.

As the material concept(s) matures the attention will focus on the method of make and manufacturing technologies. Collaborating and partnering with the Materiality Designers, Suppliers and the wider Bespoke team.

Creating visual and numerical standards to be used within the supply chain and within vehicle assembly.

Essential Skills:

  • Experience and knowledge in the field of relevant material technologies and strong technical and development expertise.
  • A good understanding of product and automotive design combined with good aesthetic judgement, colour vision and colour perception.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to relate to and communicate at all levels.

Experience and Qualifications Required:

  • Relevant degree or equivalent experience preferred.

Desirable Experience and Qualifications:

  • Understanding of timing plans and programme managing commodity developments.
  • Having the capability to measure KPI’s in relation to programme deliverables.

Additional Information:

The position will require a UK driving licence to enable independent travel to suppliers and manufacture sites. overseas travel may also be required at short notice.
