Senior Management Accountant

Location: Dorset (flexible working with some office presence required)

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced and proactive Senior Management Accountant to join our Finance team. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in driving financial insight, supporting strategic decision-making, and ensuring effective financial management across the organisation.

We operate a flexible, remote-first working model, meaning you will work primarily from home but will be expected to attend the office in Dorset on occasion.

Key Responsibilities
  • Preparing monthly management accounts with variance analysis and commentary for senior leadership.
  • Leading on budget setting, reforecasting, and financial planning.
  • Partnering with operational managers to provide financial insight and recommendations.
  • Overseeing cashflow forecasting and treasury reporting.
  • Supervising and mentoring junior finance colleagues.
  • Supporting statutory accounts preparation and external audit.
  • Driving process improvements within finance reporting and systems.
What We Are Looking For
  • Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
  • Strong management accounting experience, ideally within housing, not-for-profit, or public sector.
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to turn data into actionable insight.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience in leading or coaching junior team members.
  • Comfortable working flexibly, both independently and collaboratively.
