Join a leader in advancing sustainability and powering carbon-free tomorrow. We are seeking a Product Inspection Engineer to join an Inspection team. This role is crucial in supporting engineering activities, from product performance validation to new product development, using state-of-the-art measurement technologies.

Day-to-Day of the Product Inspection Engineer Role:
  • Carry out dimensional and surface measurement according to design specifications using various measurement systems including microscopes, hand gauges, and optical measurement systems.
  • Produce detailed inspection reports and communicate technical information effectively with key stakeholders.
  • Be accountable for continuous quality improvement, collaborating with the product engineering and validation team to define detailed requirements.
  • Collaborate with colleagues, customers, and suppliers, and research new technology to improve department capabilities to meet product development and programme needs.
  • Conduct measurement trials and capability analysis, including equipment calibration and maintenance.
  • Ensure EH&S and Quality Management System conformance (IATF 16949).
  • Support department targets, budget, performance metrics, and quality standards.
Required Skills & Qualifications of the Product Inspection Engineer:
  • Degree in an appropriate engineering discipline with a minimum of 2 years’ experience.
  • Master’s degree in metrology or a precision engineering discipline is preferred.
  • NPL Dimensional Measurement Certificate – Level 1 & 2 would be beneficial.
  • Experience with manual and digital microscopes, contact and optical 3D metrology equipment.
  • Skills in writing measurement programs and process automation.
  • Practical experience of 3D metrology software and associated principles.
  • Ability to interpret complex engineering drawings and GD&T specifications.
