Machine Operator

Our client is seeking an experienced and motivated Machine Operator to join our manufacturing team at a well-established engineering firm based in East Kilbride. This role involves operating a variety of machine tools, with a particular focus on conventional horizontal boring. You will be working in a collaborative environment that values continuous improvement, safety, and innovation. The ideal candidate will bring solid machining experience, the ability to read mechanical drawings, and a proactive attitude, contributing to both high-quality production and team success.

• Work includes operation of horizontal boring and other conventional machine tools
• Responsible for producing precision components from engineering drawings
• Opportunity to contribute to process improvements and departmental efficiency
• Adherence to company safety and quality values is essential

• Previous experience as a machine operator or in a similar role
• Proficient in reading and interpreting mechanical detail drawings
• Skilled in operating various machine tools (e.g., lathe, milling, drilling)

Advantageous experience includes:

• Use of "Kerns Richard SH75" or similar boring machine
• Counterbalance forklift licence
• Overhead crane operation
• Awareness of safe working practices in a machine shop environment

• 39 hours per week. 06:00-14:30 (Mon-Thurs), 06:00-13:30 (Fri)
• 17.50-18.50 an hour dependant on experience
