Estimating/Commercial Manager

Job Title: Estimator

Location: Scotland (with travel across Scotland and the wider UK)

Our client, a well-established surfacing contractor, is growing and now seeking an experienced Estimator to join their busy commercial team in Glasgow. With a strong pipeline of projects, this role offers an excellent opportunity for an ambitious professional to play a key part in the delivery of civil engineering schemes.

Key Responsibilities

As an Estimator, you will:

• Manage the registration, control, and administration of tender documentation.
• Prepare accurate and competitive estimates, tenders, and project packages.
• Carry out risk analysis to ensure tenders are commercially viable.
• Produce tender submissions, estimating reports, and monthly valuations.
• Procure and manage subcontractor orders.
• Engage with clients to understand project requirements and maintain strong working relationships.
• Provide support with proposals and contract management.
• Ensure compliance with company procedures and quality standards.
• Work closely with senior management and site teams to ensure successful project delivery.
• Identify and develop new business opportunities.

About You

To succeed in this role, you will bring:

• Previous experience as an Estimator within a civil engineering or sports contractor environment.
• A relevant qualification or equivalent professional experience.
• A solid background in civil engineering projects.
• Knowledge of first-principle estimating methods.
• Strong commercial awareness with the ability to maximise profitability.
• Good understanding of contract conditions and the tendering process.
• A full UK driving licence.
