Job Title: Electrical Control & Instrumentation (EC&I) Technician

Location: Glasgow Salary: 47,239 per annum + Annual Bonus Scheme

Hours: Full-time, 40 hours per week (Monday to Friday)

EC&I Technician Role:

Our client is seeking an experienced EC&I Technician to join their team a state of the artEnergy Recovery Facility (ERF) in Glasgow. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in maintaining and improving the performance of a critical infrastructure site.

As the EC&I Technician, you will be responsible for the repair, maintenance, and optimisation of all electrical control and instrumentation equipment across the facility. You will also provide technical support to other disciplines, contributing your expertise to ensure safe, efficient, and compliant operations.

EC&i Technician Responsibilities:

  • Perform fault diagnostics and carry out corrective and reactive maintenance on EC&I systems

  • Ensure maintenance plans and performance targets are met safely and economically

  • Deliver improvement projects aimed at increasing plant reliability and reducing operational costs

  • Support and coordinate contractors to maintain a safe and efficient working environment

  • Participate in an on-call rota to respond to plant and equipment breakdowns during and outside normal working hours, including weekends, nights, and bank holidays

EC&i Technician Background

  • Proven experience in EC&I engineering within a process or manufacturing environment

  • City & Guilds, NVQ Level 3, HNC or equivalent in a relevant engineering discipline

  • Familiarity with Computerised Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS)

  • Experience with DCS/SCADA systems

  • Strong understanding of environmental and health & safety regulations

  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively across all levels

  • Fully conversant with instrument loop drawings and P&IDs

  • Logical thinker with strong problem-solving skills

  • Formal electrical qualification qualifying as multi-skilled, including 18th Edition IEE Wiring Regulations (desirable)
