- Overseeing the Accounting & Finance department.
- Developing and implementing strategic financial plans.
- Ensuring compliance with financial regulations.
- Providing financial reports and interpreting financial information to managerial staff.
- Monitoring and interpreting cash flows and predicting future trends.
- Managing budgeting and forecasting processes.
- Leading and developing finance teams.
- Engaging with stakeholders on financial matters.
Profile
A successful Interim Director of Finance should have:
- A proffesional accountancy qualification is essential - eg ACCA, ICAS, CIMA etc
- An academic background in Finance, Accounting or similar field.
- Proven leadership skills in a public sector setting.
- Strong knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, and cost control principles.
- Excellent understanding of automated financial and accounting reporting systems.
- Superior analytical skills to evaluate financial operations.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.

This role is mostly home based and candidates will normally only be expected to be in the office in Edinburgh or Glasgow one day a week - travel will not be paid for
