Anderson Knight is currently recruiting an Assistant Buyer on a full-time permanent basis for one of our clients based in Glasgow.

As an Assistant Buyer, you will play a crucial role in supporting the purchasing team with sourcing, ordering, and managing inventory. You will work closely with suppliers, maintain accurate records, and ensure that our stock levels meet the demands of our customers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Buyer in sourcing and selecting products based on market trends and customer needs.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers to ensure timely delivery and favourable terms.
  • Monitor inventory levels and place orders to avoid stockouts and overstock situations.
  • Conduct market research to identify potential suppliers and new products.
  • Negotiate prices, terms, and delivery schedules with suppliers.
  • Maintain accurate records of purchases, pricing, and other important data.
  • Assist in preparing reports and analysing data to support purchasing decisions.
  • Collaborate with other departments, including sales and marketing, to align purchasing activities with business goals.

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in a buying or procurement role is preferred.
  • Strong analytical and negotiation skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organisational skills.
